With art loving kids at home, creative juices are always overflowing. Kids love the days when their innate creativity is put to good use. With Father’s Day just a few days away, the kids started searching for the most thoughtful (and fun to make) gift for their father.
We stumbled upon some really nice ideas and it was tough to decide which one to work with. This year we made a book with stories from the dad. Over the years, there is one bed time ritual that we religiously follow. Kids sleep only after they listen a bedtime story from their dad. Now the stories have evolved into series with repeating characters. So, Ms “M” and little “A” decided to capture all the stories in a handwritten book, which we later printed at home.
Sharing a sneak peek into one of the stories from the book.

Here is how we made it.
Printed the stories on A4 sheets and binded the pages together with a thread. Kids drew illustrations by hand to give the final touches. We are hoping that Dad will be absolutely joyful.
Here are some inspiring Father’s Day gift ideas which are fun to make for the kiddos.
What I love about dad journal –There are some things about dad’s which we simply adore. I am sure we all have a long list of what we loved about our fathers. And so, do our children. Ask your kids to list down some habits, acts and qualities of their dad and make a journal. It can be done in a scrap book too.
Things that you need: Printed pages, scissors, decoration and stickers. I loved how artsycraftsymom shares how to make it using simple things.

Painted DIY paperweights with stones- Most children are already familiar with painting rocks. It is an easy activity even for young kids. All you require are some rocks, paints and brushes. The only thing to remember is that the stones you collect should be roundish in shape. Wash and dry the rocks. Paint the rocks the way you like and let it sundry. And the paperweights are ready.
